Join us this summer for a hands-on floral installation experience at The Flower Cottage. Whether you're looking to add installation work to your own business, become a more valuable freelance designer, or simply gain confidence with large-scale floral work, this workshop was designed to help you move beyond bouquets and centerpieces and into the world of installations.
Unlike many installation workshops that focus on a single design, we'll be creating multiple installations throughout The Flower Cottage so you can experience a variety of mechanics and techniques that can be adapted to countless event designs. From floor meadows and upright structures to floral draping and suspended florals, you'll leave with a broader understanding of how installations come together and the confidence to apply these techniques in your own work.
This is not a demonstration-style workshop. You'll be actively involved in prepping mechanics, building structures, placing flowers, troubleshooting designs, and transforming the space alongside us.

You'll learn how simple materials can become the foundation for everything from ceremony arches to floral designs that appear to grow up walls and architectural features.
Together, we'll create floor meadows and large-scale floral structures throughout The Flower Cottage while exploring mechanics that can be adapted to a wide variety of installation styles.

Together, we'll create a hanging floral canopy around an existing chandelier and explore versatile draping mechanics using chicken wire. These techniques can be adapted to countless installation styles, from sweetheart tables and mantels to long reception tables, chair backs, staircases, and more.
Topics Include:
• Attaching and suspending florals from a bare ceiling
• Creating a floral canopy around an existing structure
• Building floral drapes using chicken wire mechanics
• Scale, movement, and floral placement
• Production schedules and workflow
• Ordering and recipe planning
