A Valentine's Day Charcuterie Plate
If you’ve been following us for a while you’ll know that we loooove a good charcuterie board. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously! When we put a board together we just have fun with it and pair things that we love and want to eat.
Start by grabbing an oversized platter or large wooden cutting board to arrange your delicacies on. Cheese, meats, breads, crackers, fruits, pickled veggies, dips, spreads, nuts, or sweet nibs are a great start to any board! Have fun filling the spaces between the meats and cheese by layering in the different colors and textures of the smaller treats.
Try these few additions below to give your basic charcuterie board a festive Valentine’s day spin, making it the perfect thing for you and your honey to snack on all night long.
Heart shaped treats—Let’s play up the love with some hearts! Strawberry heart marshmallows, Dove chocolates, red heart gummies, conversation hearts—you can certainly get creative with heart shaped foods. Bust out your heart cookie cutter to shape to your meats, cheese or veggies. Get really fancy with it by rolling your meats or sliced cheeses into rosettes!
Chocolates & Berries- They just go together! Plus what’s a Valentine’s day without a little chocolate. Use strawberries or raspberries to give your board that punchy pop of red!
Flowers—“I must have flowers, always and always” You’ve seen this Monet quote, yes? Well, we agree and we mean always. Make your charcuterie board the true centerpiece of the table— A feast for the eyes and the mouth. Add some beautiful blooms for fragrance and interest! Look for bigger blooms like roses to give that romantic feel. Try fresh herbs such as rosemary or basil, or even lavender to elevate your tasting experience.
