How to Create a Flower Meadow Arrangement

Flower meadows are trending, and we’re here for it! Adorning the ceremony aisle, around the cake/cake table, or even as a centerpiece, organic arrangements heavy in flowers and greenery, as if they're growing from the ground, are trending! They transform any space into an intimate, enchanting, garden.  Because of this, we truly enjoy creating these arrangements. Whether you're a wedding florist or a hobby florist, we encourage you to experiment with flower meadows! Read on for more tips on how to arrange and the key ingredients to create these magical meadows!

The right ingredients are everything

To achieve that garden, meadow vibe the right flower ingredients are essential.  Look to nature and what is blooming in the garden outside. Choose a mix of line flowers, textures, large fluffy blooms and smaller blossoms or sprays.  Greenery is also a must!

Cover your mechanics

Whether you're using chicken wire or floral foam, it's important to cover everything up. Cut the larger leaves very short to cover the base of your entire piece and then use the more delicate stems to shape out the height. Because we’re going to place the flowers at different levels, your greenery should be heavier at the base to cover the mechanics and thin out the taller it gets.

You can't really mess this up

Cut the stems longer than you think. (You can always trim more, but you can't really add back on).

We start with the line flowers and the large fluffy blooms for the height.  Use a few fluffy blooms lower to create movement and draw the eye down.   Then fill in with smaller blooms and texture from there!

Our biggest tip is to draw inspiration from nature.  When you look at gardens or meadows, the heads of the flowers aren't all at the same height.  Flowers all grow at their own pace, so each stem is at a slightly different height and angle.  Let your blooms breathe!
