Bouquet Essentials for the Perfect Wedding Day
At Sapphire & Lace, we believe your bouquets are some of the most important pieces of your wedding day. Not only will you enjoy them up close, but they’ll also be featured in many of your photographs and can even be repurposed for your reception. To ensure they stay fresh and beautiful, we deliver them in a vase with water and provide additional vases at your reception to keep them hydrated.
Since we can’t control what happens once they’re in your care, we’ve put together a helpful guide on carrying and caring for your bouquets!
Bouquet Care
Avoid Touching the Flowers: While it might be tempting, the oils on your fingers can cause bruising on the petals. As excited as you may be, try to avoid waving, tossing, or shaking your bouquet (it's not a cheer pom-pom!).
Keep Your Bouquets Hydrated: Use the provided vase until the last minute. When not holding your bouquet, place it back in the vase to keep it fresh. We provide towels to dry the stems so water doesn’t drip on your clothes, but paper towels or hand towels work too.
How to Hold Your Bouquet
Positioning: To avoid blocking the beautiful details of your attire, hold the bouquet lower than you might think. Keep it in front of your belly button, resting your forearms on your hip bones. Tilt the flowers slightly forward so the top of the bouquet faces away from you and the stems face your stomach.
Orientation: We place pinheads on the ribbon tied to the handle. Keeping your thumbs on the pinheads will help ensure the bouquet is facing the right way.
After the Ceremony
Handling: Keep your bouquet looking fresh for photos by handling it gently. Whenever possible, place it back in the provided vase of water. If you can't use the vase between the ceremony and reception, hold or place the bouquet carefully until you arrive.
At the Reception: Place your bouquet in the designated vase we’ve provided to keep it hydrated all night. After the wedding, consider preserving your bouquet with a local company or by hanging it upside down in a dry, dark place to preserve it yourself.
With these tips, your bouquets will remain beautiful throughout your special day and beyond!!!
